I've been using the black and white/sepia settings on my camera for most of these pictures rather than editing it in a photo editing program. I like the results a little better.
Interesting shot. I've tried the monochrome setting on my camera, and the results are a little better. But I like the flexibility that shooting in color gives me. If I shoot in color and I like it in black and white, I can always do that in Photoshop. It's a little harder to add the color back if I shot in monochrome only to find I really wanted to have the photo in color. It's definitely a personal decision, though, and your results are great, so I won't try to convince you to do something different ;)
